The National Portrait Gallery acquires Cooper portrait for their permanent collection.
The National Portrait Gallery have recently acquired a photographic portrait of Emmanuel Cooper for their permanent collection. The image, dating from 1989, was taken by Matthew R. Lewis (1959 - 2009) and used by Cooper as the author photograph in the second edition of his Fully Exposed The Male Nude in Photography in 1995. It was also reproduced in his memoir Making Emmanuel Cooper.
Other significant images by Matthew R Lewis in the NPG collection include Grayson Perry, Leigh Bowery, John Craxton and Andrew Logan.
