A large stoneware bowl from the 1970s, part of Emmanuel Cooper’s extensive tableware range, is featured in the forthcoming Mallams online auction on the 15th December 2020.
Although now best known as a maker of individual jug and bowls forms, Cooper began his career making functional pottery. By the mid 1970s his range included over fifty pieces - including this large bowl - and was much admired for its design and subtle glaze. However very little appears to have survived and items rarely appear in the saleroom.
